We spent the last two days crossing the Tasman Sea to
New Zealand, where we cruised three beautiful fiords; Milford Sound, Thompson
Sound and Dusky Sound. The scenery was spectacular, even though the weather was
a bit cool, a bit wet at times and very windy. The park is the largest in New
Zealand and has 14 fiords reaching up to 40km inland. The mountains were created over 500 million
years ago and the fiords were sculpted from glaciers.

There were lots of waterfalls cascading down the mountainsides.

Beautiful photos, but I know they don't do it justice. Looking at them brought back great memories for Ian and I. The fiords are breathtaking. We also found our time their chilly (and remember we went in October, so it wasn't the middle of summer). We bought winter hats and mitts, as well as a coat and vest, just so we could enjoy the trip on the water! But worth every chilly moment. Chris Hadfield took some amazing photos from the space station last week of the fiords. You'll have to check them out when you get back.
