Akaroa is a very small town nestled in a beautiful bay,
framed by high hills. We had to tender
in from the ship, as there were no docking facilities for our large cruise
ship. The settlement was originally
French and still maintains some of the French flavour. We
managed to get to mass at the local parish church and then spent our
time wandering the streets and looking in the shops.
The town was very small, but quaint.
St. Patrick's parish where we attended mass.
Charlotte having her picture painted by a local artist statue.
Refreshments in a local establishment.
Getting back on the tender to return to the ship.
